Cancellation

 

Consistency is extremely important to the therapeutic process. I ask for 24-hours advance notice of cancellation if at all possible. After the fifth on-time notice that you need to miss a scheduled session you will be charged for any future cancellations.

 

Confidentiality

 

All information disclosed within sessions and in the written records is confidential and cannot be revealed without the client’s written permission, except where disclosure is required by law. These exceptions include presenting a danger to self or others and in the case of child or elder abuse. Under some circumstances disclosure may be required by the court pursuant to a legal proceeding.

Telephone and Emergency Procedures

 

If you need to contact me between sessions, please leave a message at (510) 761-8148 and your call will be returned as soon as possible. I check my messages regularly, with the exception of weekends, holidays and vacations. In the latter case, I will leave information on my outgoing message about the colleague who will be covering my practice. If an emergency situation arises and you cannot wait for me to return your call, please call the 24-hour Crisis Support Services line at (800) 309-2131 in Alameda County and (415) 781-0500 in San Francisco County. For Thurston County, WA, please call (360) 586-2800.
